Karen is passionate about all things related to home design. She has loved learning about the materials that make up a home inside and out ever since she was a little girl. In early elementary school, she would spend hours tearing out pictures of home interior furnishings in her mother’s home magazines and catalogs and group them together to “decorate” her make-believe homes. Her view was shaped by her mother’s love of growing flowers where Karen became her mother’s little “helper” in the garden. Her love of colorful plants and environmental design grew into a drive to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture where she mastered how to use colors and textures from landscaping materials into meaningful, immersive outdoor spaces.

When Karen became an adult, she discovered her skill at hosting parties and casual get-togethers. Hospitality comes naturally to her. Her hospitality gift and passion for design gives Karen the winning edge in creating colorful outdoor spaces where connection happens between people and nature.
